The Norton Transport office is a vibrant, forward-thinking workspace where natural elements and intentional design come together to support both productivity and well-being. From the project’s beginning, the client emphasized a desire for an environment that felt less like a traditional office and more like a warm, welcoming space.
Spanning 10,000 square feet, this new build was carefully designed to strike a balance between functionality and hospitality. Central to the concept was biophilic design. The client envisioned a workspace alive with greenery, where plants would not only enhance the atmosphere but also serve a functional purpose. To bring this vision to life, the design team collaborated with a furniture dealership to create a custom shared power rail system topped with integrated planters. These power rails act as visual dividers between workstations, offering greenery and privacy while maintaining openness. The custom-designed system is completely independent of the desks, preserving the flexibility and ergonomic functionality of sit/stand workstations.
To bring variety and energy to the open floor plan, the team introduced a range of thoughtfully designed zones that cater to diverse work styles and encourage interaction. These include inviting lounge areas for informal collaboration, semi-private workspaces for focused tasks, a breakroom is equipped with commercial-grade appliances, a fully equipped podcast studio, and a stylish coffee station that serves as a social hub. A large interior mural by local artist Seven is featured within the space. The result is a dynamic and inviting environment that not only meets the functional needs of a modern workplace but also reflects the company’s commitment to innovation, wellness, and community.
