NOC Hemlock Cabins

Bryson City, NC

Tinker Ma designed the Hemlock Cabins as part of a long-term partnership with the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC), a forward-thinking organization dedicated to creating spaces that inspire adventure and a deep connection with nature. Our collaboration with NOC spans multiple campuses, focusing on site planning, infrastructure improvements, and innovative lodging solutions that enhance the guest experience while preserving the natural landscape.

A standout project within this partnership, the Hemlock Cabins are modern, sustainable retreats located at NOC’s 500-acre main campus in Bryson City, North Carolina. Nestled among the trees, these cabins are carefully positioned to maximize privacy, scenic views, and a sense of community. Built using Studio Shed’s modular construction technology and supported by helical pier foundations, they minimize environmental impact, protecting the Nantahala National Forest while ensuring durability and efficiency.

The Hemlock Cabins exemplify Tinker Ma’s commitment to sustainable, innovative design. By integrating modular construction with thoughtful site placement, we’ve created a lodging experience that aligns with NOC’s adventurous spirit while providing guests with a comfortable and immersive stay.

Beyond the cabins, Tinker Ma’s broader work with NOC includes master planning, facility upgrades, and strategic site development across multiple locations. From enhancing river access points to designing key guest amenities, each project supports NOC’s mission to deliver unforgettable outdoor experiences while prioritizing environmental stewardship and operational efficiency.
