Dwell Hotel

Chattanooga, TN

The Dwell Hotel is a renovation of a three-story brick and limestone building built in 1909 in downtown Chattanooga. With a few exceptions, the building has been a used primarily as a hotel, most recently the Stone Fort Inn, throughout its life. The new owner decided to rebrand the hotel, giving it new life with an interior facelift while preserving the historic character of the building.

Our team worked closely with the hotel’s interior design team, local contractors and several specialty artisans to help realize the owner’s unique vision while meeting a short construction schedule that resulted in a very limited impact on the already thriving hotel and restaurant business.

At approximately 4,500 sf per floor, the renovation included an expansion and renovation of the restaurant kitchen that brought it up to current health department requirements, a complete re-imagining of the hotel bar, new lounge spaces for patrons and guests, and new reception desk on the first floor.

The upper two floors contain the hotel’s 16 guest rooms. Renovations of these floors included the combination of two guest rooms on each floor to create executive suites. We also completely reworked the guest bathrooms and designed new housekeeping and service areas, as well as implement modern guest security and access controls. The team also designed significant upgrades to the building’s electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems to provide for a modern and comfortable hotel experience.
