Fort Payne Police Station
Fort Payne, AL
Tinker Ma is proud to have designed the successful completion of the historic Fort Payne Police Station renovation. Originally constructed in the 1940s, historic Fort Payne Police Station served as City Hall for several decades before being repurposed as the Police Department. The renovation has been thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of today’s law enforcement while honoring the building’s rich history.
The new space accommodates the Police Department, including the Investigation and Patrol departments, as well as the 911 call center, which remained operational throughout the construction process. The design reconfigured the interior spaces to enhance functionality and efficiency, while preserving key architectural elements that contribute to the building's historical significance. Additionally, all new systems have been installed to bring the building up to current standards, ensuring better energy efficiency, comfort, and reliability. Upgraded HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems have equipped the building to support modern law enforcement operations.
This project highlights the City of Fort Payne's commitment to preserving its heritage while investing in the future of public safety. We are proud to have partnered with the City of Fort Payne to create a facility that will serve as a safe and reliable space for the police department and emergency services for many years to come.
